May 14 Wednesday - Salmanca Progress: Poco a Poco

May 14 Wednesday - Salmanca
Progress: Poco a Poco

Well, there has been progress. I can walk up and down stairs now without pain. And yesterday the walk to the orthopedic store seemed like a journey of a hundred years. And though it wasn't exactly pain-free, it was doable. So I got a compression sleeve for my knee and the leg above and below the knee. I even took  some pictures on the way back from the ortho store. And on the way to the ortho store, I discovered there is now an Apple store in Salamanca, right off the Plaza Mayor.

I am staying in a Hostel tonight and tomorrow night it is called the Erasmus Home. It is near the Hotel I was staying in and is also between the Cathedral and Plaza Mayor. The Hotel only had two nights available and this Hostal was only available for two nights. I've booked another Hotel that is actually on the Plaza Mayor for the weekend. So I will be here resting for one week to allow my knee lots of time to heal. If it is not ok by Sunday, I will come up with plan B. It might include a trip to Fuengirola to visit friends, a trip to Granada or Barcelona or maybe Budapest. I'll get it sorted Sunday if I need to do something else. I would so much rather walk. But it's not up to me. Just keep praying and send healing thoughts.
I didn't do much today, just moved from Hotel to Hostal and went to the Ortho store. Oh yeah, I had Chocolate con churros. Oh, my good lord, it's more like hot chocolate pudding than a beverage. So yummy.

Hope all is well at home. I hear it is hot and there are fires. Please stay safe my friends.

  1. I'm glad that you have the patience to wait out your knee's slow healing. Hopefully you have lots of reading material! And we have LOTS of water here, so if we could just get together with the folks who have fires, I think we might have a solution for them. Chocolate con churros sounds fabulous! Healing thoughts...
